    buying a laptop

for that price you won't exactly get much... nor a decent brand, in fact, advent is the only brand you can get. I would suggest that if you can strech to £322.96 then get the Advent 5431 as it has a pentium dual core 2.0GHz, better than a celeron, in my opinion.

    Rate my Build! (any suggestions)

I think out of those 2 I would choose the Asus board, even though it's £20 more it means I done need to get a dvdrw as I can use my IDE Drive insteadso it acually only costs about £5 more. Any other suggestions or comments? Is the PSU OK? Rail stats are on the link.

    Practical Joke

for using shutdown its pretty simple. open notepad then type shutdown -f -s -t 00 the "-f" is to force everything to close the "-s" means shutdown the "-t" is the time then add the amount of seconds after "00" this makes it force shutdown straight away.

    Do I really need 2gb?

If you want to access files faster then RAM but only to a certain extent. 1GB should be enough for that, however, Getting a faster hard drive may well be the way forwards. a 7200rpm drive should do the trick nicely with a bigger cache than the current one
