So I've got a £300 budget for a new gaming computer (nothing too intense as I've only got a 15" 1024x768 monitor) which will also be used for video recording and mixing occasionally and various other menial tasks.
What I've got so far is this:
OCZ 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 CL 4-4-4-15 PLATINUM XTC with LIFETIME WARRANTY £34.98
Seagate ST3250310AS 250GB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 8MB Cache - OEM £42.79
Extra Value 550W ATX Silent Neon PSU - 12cm Fan/PPFC (no power cord) £19.98
Casecom Black Mid Tower Case - Front Blue LED 120mm Fan - With Side Window £17.99
ECS G33T-M2 V1.0 Socket 775 Intel G33 Chipset PCI-E onboard VGA 8 channel Audio mATX £46.99
Optiarc AD-7200S 20X DVD±RW/DL/RAM Internal SATA Bare Black Drive - OEM £16.00
Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 Socket 775 2.4GHz (800MHz) L2 2MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor £89.81
That all adds up to £268.54
You may notice that there's no graphics card. I'm sort of including that in the budget in the sense that I don't want to use up to the £300 then have to get a graphics card aswell, I want to use a bit of money from the budget...then a bit more. Planning on getting a 7800GTX or 7900GTX but they don't sell them on ebuyer.
I picked that motherboard as I wanted room for expandability in the future, I wanted one that could have more than 2GB RAM @ 800MHz, supports quad core and 1333MHz FSB
So, anything you think I should change? I'll welcome any suggestions.
