I can't do a screen shot. Usually when I plug a drive in it just pops up on the screen. How do I check out the registry?

It started with not recognizing the internal DVD drive. Now it does not recognize external DVD drive. Computer makes a sound when I attach external DVD to USB, but it never shows up. I tried multiple drives, same thing. External HDD and SDD work fine via same USB connections. Any ideas? Thanks

No, have not tired letting it cool down. It really heats up when doing video work, the internal fan roars, so I use an external fan to pump air in. It has never shut down even when you can feel the heat coming out of it.

Jus Just like someone pulls the plug...gone. Then wont start until I unplug elec for a short spell. Then starts normal.

It happens especially at evening / night on a daily basis. Computer wont stay asleep. A very similar 2nd computer stays asleep fine 98% of the time. The 2nd computer has a bigger RAM and SSD boot drive, but otherwise the same and 1st computer suffering from insomnia. Thanks
