    Official Screenshot Thread

This game has incredible graphics, the line between gaming and reality is stretched with this Crytek creation. The best visuals I've ever seen in a game, period. Full high-res images in their jaw-dropping 1080p glory are here :)

Latest build! Fractal case was a pleasure to work in, and this thing is *dead* silent, not even kidding. I came from the NZXT Tempest Evo case (6 case fans, no controller!) so this is like heaven atm

Making a silent gaming build, what do you think?

Appreciate the reply. I'm aware that the Define R5 has a lot of these thing already (quiet fans, sound dampening, dust filters, etc). My CPU cooler fan seems to be loudest item at this point but it's still decently quiet. Will the R9 380 provide 50fps minimum in 1080p?

Making a silent gaming build, what do you think?

Hey guys, I'm gonna use this build for both 1080p 60fps gaming as well as photo/video editing. Here's what I'm planning on getting: Intel Xeon 1241 v3 (basically an i7-4790 equivalent, but AU$45 cheaper) Kingston HyperX 16GB RAM (1600Mhz) Gigabyte H97 Gaming 3 Motherboard MSI Radeon R9 380...

    Difference between H97 and Z97?

Z97 boards also support higher frequency RAM, going up to 3200MHz, while the H97 boards have a max of 1600MHz. In all honesty, it won't make much of a difference unless you're a hardcore video/photo editing enthusiast. You're better off selecting RAM based on timings. A lot of tests have shown...

can any one recommend a method to encode three or four letters?

You could create your own encoding algorithm that only you will know yourself. Let's say you map all letters A-Z to the numbers 1..26. You could have a function which takes a letter, divides by some number, and do something with the remainder (modulus). This isn't a linear cypher as mentioned...

Haha thanks. Yeah, it's the LE variant of the P7P55D boards. Now, the 4th generation CPUs have more than a 100% improvement over the first generation i5's and i7's, so a good time to upgrade I reckon.

Thought I'd clean my case out, had been 2 years since I last did it. My hardware is 5 years old now, looking to upgrade it soon Cleaning it up. Trusty old TP. The rig, mid-cleaning. Making sure I show off the SSD :D Finished, side fan off because it's quite noisy Aaand the desk setup.

    What are you currently playing?

Been playing Age of Empires 2 HD lately. I didn't realise how utterly bad I was once I started playing against real humans online (in the HD edition). Gave me a reality check on my entire childhood hahaha.

    Steam Summer Sales

Just picked up Age of Empires 2 HD and Tomb Raider for AU$16.50 all up. It was more of an impulse purchase since I had exams until a few days ago and the daily deals were ending in a couple of hours tonight lol. *EDIT* Also got Assassin's Creed 2 Deluxe Ed. for $3. Awesome deal.

    All Chrome Bookmarks gone

I believe the file (and the rest of your Chrome files) is stored somewhere in your appData folder (if you're on a Windows machine), hidden away in your user directory. Firstly, you'll want to enable the viewing of hidden files (since the appData folder is hidden), which can be done in Folder...

    Please help!

Usually these scammers will get the user to install remote access software which allows them to take control of the PC. First and foremost, this software should be uninstalled so as to prevent any further remote access by the scammers. Next, the 'appropriate Microsoft program' has to be...

What Games Should Get The HD Treatment

Need for Speed I & II, brilliant games which captured the true supercar racing experience. It featured an original soundtrack and exotic and beautiful locations like Nepal and outback Australia. Seeing those locations being remade in HD would be incredible. Flying through the Aussie desert, in...

    E3 2014

Far Cry 4 looks impressive, although it bears many similarities to FC3 in terms of the gameplay/engine. The jump wasn't as big as it was from FC2 to 3 (or even from the first to the second). The location looks awesome though, can't wait to see how they've modelled North India/Nepal/Bhutan in...

Which one is better between Windows and Ubuntu OS?

I believe the above point doesn't matter if you're using an SSD where fragmentation is not an issue? Correct me if I'm wrong. I agree with everything that DMGrier has said. Although, the OP appears to be new to this sort of stuff, and you used jargon and terminology which might be a bit...

Totally loving Linux at the moment, only ever use Windows if I want to play games. Xubuntu's xfce environment is really well made!
