Come on guys, don't give up so easily. Reboot into Safe Mode with Networking and download www.malwarebytes.org. Run a full scan. Update your Anti-virus and run a full scan. If it is still fubar, then download and install Combofix.
User Permissions
If you are attaching the old HDD drive as a Slave then log in as the Local Administrator. You will then have access to all the user accounts and you will not need to use the user password to access the files.

Clean up
Download CCleaner, delete temp files. Open My Computer, right click the C: drive choose Properties/Tools Tab/Defragment Now/Defragment. After that download, install www.malwarebytes.org and run a Full Scan, delete all nasties.

In Windows Vista there are some applications that require Elevated permissions. Like running most apps from the Command Prompt. Right click the .EXE file that you want to run and choose "Run as Administrator".
