Hi guys,

One of my mates wants to get back into PC gaming, and I've not really got too much time on my hands right now because I'm busy painting my room.

The Budget is £600 and he needs everything apart from a Keyboard & Mouse.

So I'm looking for the following:

Case
Power Supply
Hard Drive
Motherboard
Processor
Graphics Card
RAM
Optical Drive
CPU Cooler

I want to provide him with both an AMD and Intel system, he will also be overclocking :)

Many Thanks :D

A decent system with a monitor and OS included for £600 is proving to be a bit of a challenge, can he spend any more?

Just been speaking to him, and told him the problem.

You can take away the operating system and monitor from the budget! :D

Also, he will be overclocking :)

OK I'll get a build for you in the morning. Look at the likes of an i3, a GA-Z77X-D3H, 8GB 1600MHz RAM, 128GB SSD, 7850, CX 600 and Carbide 300R. That should get you to £600 or thereabouts.

Total = £719.47,That price includes DPD Next Day delivery,I think you can choose a cheaper/slower deliver option during checkout.

If your mate really wants to lower the price,he could settle with a 7850 its still a bloody good card,But i think the 7950 is a really good deal for the power and free games you get.

It would,But my build has an SSD,7950 etc for only £20 over budget..I would not be recommending a standard 7200Rpm drive these days for other than storage.:p

You could get an SSD and a smaller 500GB or 1TB HDD with my Intel build and it won't be too much over budget.

You should preference the platform over an ssd. Changing the hidden is easy compared to upgrading the platform.
