1.5 gigs vs. 3 gigs?

I once heard that anything over 2 gigs of ram didn't really matter for much unless you were doing some pretty crazy stuff. I just have a 6600 gt oc with a AMD 64 3200+ and 1.5 gigs of ram. If i doubled my ram would I see much difference in game performance and such or is that much ram just not needed?

I would say just leave those 1.5gigs for now. You would not generally need more than 1GB, yet with some new demanding games you might. However, 1.5 is plenty in my view. If you really want, I would get another 512 to round it up to 2GB and then turn off the paging file. However, you would barely notice any difference in anything else than heavy gaming. 3 gigs would be an overkill for sure.
