i have windows istalled on a 250 gig hd, and it leaves alot of space left over that isnt being used. i have many hdd, and was wondering how to confugure my sytme. it will be for gaming only, and i want to know, should i just install my games to the 250 with windows to make use of the extra space, or should i throw in a 500gig hd and use that for my games? would there be much benefit from using the 2nd hd for games, or would it be pretty much the same if i had it all on the same drive, or maybe partition the windows hd and put the games on the 2nd partition of the same drive that windows is installes?...thank you for your advice

It all depends on preference. But just to let you know that some games default to installing on the boot drive and can't be changed. Usually what I do is create 2 partitions on one drive. One for OS and programs, and the other for data. That way if windows crashes then all my data is on a separate partition and I can just reinstall windows without having to back up anything. But if you want to use 2 drives, you can use the 250 for OS and programs and the 500 for data or vice versa.

right well this pc wont have any programs on it other than temp monitors and virus scanner, with a 3rd party defragger like auslogics, and acronis, and probably tuneup utilities 2008 but thats it, games only. ill have a image of the 250 gig using acronis, so everything will be backed up as well as the games, although all my progress will be lost in those games should i have to use the image drive. so i really dont know, i think i might just use the 1 250gig hd, partition it with a 40gig partion for windows vista ultimate, and use the other 200gigs for games. what ya think, and back it ALL up with an image

There really is no right or wrong, its more personal preference. But it looks like what you want to do will work out.
