I have an old Pentium 3 - 450Mhz and I noticed when I installed an Antivirus and a Firewall it went extremely slow,
Heres my internet connection wires order: I have my router/modem connected to a hub/splitter (ethernet connection) I have a Pentium 4 2.66Ghz and the Pentium 3 connected to the hub/splitter so that they both have internet and lan. Is it possible for the firewall on the Pentium 4 to protect the pentium 3 through lan or something? Can the internet connection on the Pectium 3 pass through the Pentium 4 first so that it will be filtered from viruses etc.?

Thanks

Your getting far too complex for a common problem. The best way is to see if you dsl router has firewall functionality built in. If so, use it and if not, you may want to buy a dsl router (with an SPA firewall built in), set your ISP's router to bridge mode and use yours for the connection/lan/firewall...etc.
