100 dollar laptop New

lol hahahaah i think thats a great idea.
it gives the poor a chance to learn wat they need but i think children should still have teachers. Wat if they dont quite get something?

Though there is a power cord, that cool crank can provide roughly ten minutes of juice for each minute of turning.
lol hahahah rotflmfao those kids will have a lot of upper body strength lol

has been posted previously before it was actually made available here i believe. im sure someone is willing to dig that up.

well, its a good thing someone is doing that. if you have grown up in umcompromising circumstances, you'll understand. if not, carry on.

my god, that'll never stick, its got a crank for god sake. Surely they could have made it use batteries or something, it loks like a 3 year olds play toy, no self respecting student is gonna buy one of them...... are they

lol it lloks more like the laptop toy thing i had when i was about 3, surely they could have saved money by getting rid of the crank thing, and putting it in some more normal casing. I would prefer to have to use a power cord than to crank up that thing every few minutes, although it would be a good idea if it was some external device. And i think i would prefer boring black rather than multicolour, then again fro that price i suppose you can;t really be fussy :D

We'll see a spike in glasses and contacts with screens that small ;) and you've gotta have pretty small hands to use that tiny keyboard.

I remember reading about that in PC Magazine, its meant for people in really poor countries with limited electricity.

ya know, next time you out in the middle of the african savanna, you try and find a plug in.
haha so it dose have a use.
If they where going for an alterative power sores why crank? They could have used a solar panel for the other side of the screen.

Im sure a hand crank produces more electricity, and costs less.

that and it's more durable and lasts longer. Solar panels aren't exactly the most rugged pieces of equipment

Dude, its ment for children that dont use ICT and is meant to bridge the digital divide. I think they would rather have that than nothing.
