100% usage/games freeze

Lately, my CPU has been running at 100% usage all the time. Whenever I try to play Source or any other game the game just freezes about one minute into it. ANy ideas?

sounds like a virus/malware to me, a format and reinstall would be a good option but a spyware and virus scan would be helpful to start with.

Nevermind, it was just the folding@home program. I just uninstalled it and it's ok now. Thanks for the input. I am overdue for a virus/spyware scan though....

yeah you should do it once a week or once every two weeks

isn't that normal? the 100% usage, at least for harder to run games

folding @ home should be set on a lower priority by default so games get cpu resources first... if its not you can change the process priorities in task manager.
