1000$ budget for a new Gaming Pc

This is a good power supply, but if you are looking to invest a little more money I would recommend a 650w xfx black edition psu or a 750w xfx black edition psu, or the Corsair 650w HX series PSU.

As for the OS, it won't effect gaming as much as convenience. I recommend an OEM system builder version of windows 7. You can get home, premium, professional, or ultimate. It just depends on how much money you are willing to spend and if the better windows 7 packages are worth it.

I was about to post similar things but it seems you've got it covered :)

OEM is the way to go for an OS. Rosewill powersupplies... I wouldn't have one :o

Alright, thanks, but I think it's too big to fit in my case. I read a review that said "This is an oversized unit, not the same dimensions as the typical power supply. Make sure you have enough room in your chassis before buying this - I've tried it in 2 different ATX mid-size cases, and couldn't use it."

I would also like to play Crysis and Crysis 2 on max settings, do you think I have the necessary components for that?

Tom's Hardware (website) would have pretty good benchmarks of both titles, if you want a feel for how your setup would run it. The big determining factor as well is what resolution you're playing them.

Btw, the GTX 460 1GB is a clearly better card than that guy's 5770. And from what I remember reading, he would have to be playing at a fairly low resolution to max either one. You may be in the same boat, BUT I do know the GTX 460 will run either one well.

my 5770 seems to be doing really quite well form what i've given it, if your on a tight budget then i would highly recommend it. i'm only going on what i've heard from other people with the card in terms of Crysis, however i have seen a video on youtube of a guy with an I7 920 and a 5770 completely maxing Crysis 2.

You can get a 5770 to start out with and then once you build your bank back up you can always buy another one and do crossfire. This will ensure everything runs maxed out on your pc. However, if you want to run crossfire (multiple GPUs) then you must get at least a 750w power supply.

Or you can upgrade you GPU to a 5870 and run games better with that. The 5770 isn't bad by any means, but it won't run everything at ultra.

I was able to max out crysis on a 5770 save for the AA and the highest shader effects, framerates were 25 or less but it was bearable with the motion blur.

GTX 460 1gb should handle it no problems. Crysis 2 is easy to run... I hardly dipped below 60fps playing it... Bit of a disappointment really, the game sucks :(

Thanks guys, you've all helped tremendously! I might crossfire later on, but I just don't have the funds at the moment. Sorry to hear about Crysis 2, Linkin! If you have any more suggestions about my build, I would be delighted to hear them!

Crysis 2's rip off of call of duty multiplayer has drawn me away from it. It's too bad to, they had such a good game and then they just decide to clone call of duty's multiplayer. Here's for hoping brink, or BF3 can pull off a different and better experience.
