$1000 complete build

My mother-in-law asked me if I would be interested in building her a new computer. She will need everything including monitor, keyboard, mouse, and OS. I don't have any brand loyalities, but I have to stick with windows, Core 2 Duo CPU, & DX10 video card. It will NOT be for gaming. $1000 is her limit.

any suggestions?

Total:$1069 MIR $75 w/o shipping. There is risk that MIR do not work. If that is the case, you can choose cheaper RAM and case.

P.S. I am no expert on monitor, don't know which brand is better, and I just choose a 19" widescreen with DVI input & built-in speaker which suit your budget.

If you insist on getting Core 2 Duo, then go for Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 -- $194.99
That would bring down the total to under $1000 based on daisymtc's build

The reason I choose 2600XT because usually ATI 'claimed' to be better for non-gamming. And it fit his budget

And I though of just getting Centurion 5 as well, but CAVALIER 3 look nice as well
