1000 dollar computer

i live in canada
will be used for gaming

i already have:
windows 7 oem
monitor
speakers
mouse
keyboard
sata hard drive
dvd drive

im looking to spend $1000 (flexible)
i dont want to get a combo purchase to save a few dollars if it might mean i have a worse setup
if it matters i wont be buying it for at least a couple weeks.

if you won't be buying for a couple weeks then repost in a couple weeks. there is the HD 7970 coming out january 9th, although it might be a little over budget with it, card alone being 550 usd, but there will be different sales and all, so no point in looking now.
