Hello to all. I have a new Asus P5Q Mobo, Intel Pentium D 3.2 Ghz CPU with 800 FSB, and Corsair RAM rated 1066 Mhz.
Will the 1066 RAM work with the 800FSB CPU, or do I have to get a CPU rated 1066 FSB?
Thanks.

Well it depends, 133mhz faster with equal timming. Yeah there a performance difference, not much but its there. Like you could say is 800 really all that faster then 667 or 667 to 533. If you get 1066 get them with lower voltage. Most of the 1066 with 2.2/2.3 voltage is nothing more than overclocked 800.

Well, as far as I'm concerned I'm getting 800 as Athlon 64s can't handle 1066. :p I was just curious.

Even with 800 get you some with good timming and low voltage. Gives you some head room if you decide to overclock.

Yeah 1.8 is good voltage. But that goes along with the timing too. If its 1.8V but the timing is like 777-20, not to good. 555-15 at 1.8 is pretty good for DDR2 800

No not that. Are you getting 2gbs, any more you need at least 2gbs.. Need 2 sticks to run in Dual Channel.

The lower the timing the better.
