1090t or 1055t?

Money is a concern, and i can't decide.

will an OC'd 1055T perform almost as well as a 1090T?

what are the main differences other than the 1090T being a black edition?

I just looked and for an extra $11 over the 1090T build i can go with an Intel 2500K, would that be worth it ? how much more performance would i see?

What would you be using it for??
Yes an overclocked 1055t will perform really well,but so would an overclocked 1090t.All depends on the purpose you would be using it for.
Which motherboard do you have?


The black edition has an unlocked clock multiplier which will be really helpful in overclocking.1090t and 1055t have the same architecture but the 1090t is clocked at 3.2GHz while 1055t is clocked at 2.8GHz.

i'd be using it for games, and video editing and 3d work.

For gaming it won't make much of a difference but running applications that use Multiple cores then I would recomend the 1090t black edition and also overclocking it to get the max out of it.

okay, would it be worth the extra money for an i5 2500k? it'd cost about $30 more than the 1090T, with a different motherboard.

is overclocking enabled for the 2500K on the Asus P8H67-M L1155 Intel H67 MOBO?

Sandy Bridge is an awesome CPU.It would perform way better than the hex core in gaming and in Muliti-core applications the hex core is better.

going with those benchmark results the 1090T out performs the 2500K in the tests that matter to me, i used cinema 4D a fair bit.

I guess i'll save my $50 and go with the AMD

Happy to help.

Go for the black edition since it has an unlocked multiplier and will overclock crazy well.
And also if you can get an after-market cooler and overclock it(Even though AMD overclocks well on the stock HSF also).Get something like this
