10k/15k HDD Cache

Right, do the make those drives with any cache size larger than 16mb? I want more than 16mb because I want to brag about it, mostly.

Yes but he was referring to 10K/15K RPM drives with 32MB of cache.

You're too fast, aren't you? :)

Touche. I'll refrain from criticizing the fact that you didn't answer my question out of fear of further criticism of my ethical standards and their subsequent influence on my priorities.:D

I have done the research, and have picked out a good SCSI controller card. I do not mean to be rude, but could you tell me whether or not you know if they make 10/15k RPM HDDs with 16mb+ caches?

I wasn't able to find any, but from what I heard there really isn't much if any benefit from a drive with 16MB of cache compared to 32MB. Before spending so much on hard drives though if you want it for bragging rights, I would upgrade the rest of your computer first.

Alright, thank you for the information. In regards to upgrading my PC, what would do you think would be my current bottleneck? I assume it's my E8400.

Ahh, alright, and that's a whole new Socket, 1366 if I'm not mistaken? As well as new RAM for a new Motherboard?:D
