10k rpm Harddrive going bad?

My 10k (Raptor) rpm harddrive which runs Windows XP seems to be having some problems. It loads Windows and everything but it runs sooooo slow. So I tried to delete the partition and format it... won't format. It just freezes @ 20%. Windows sees it but it's soooo slow. Right now it's just raw data without any format and it won't let me. What do you think the problem is?

You need to run Western Digital Data Lifeguard, a diagnostics program, and see what it tells you.

I believe this is what you seek friend. If your not sure pop your HDD out and look.

I ran that program and it wouldn't let me set it up through that either. It just freezes.

And I didn't see a diagnostics tool in the program either.

have you tried another hard drive to see if your computer is not the issue?
