I have an HP 510n desktop, 1.2G Celeron, 512MB, running XP. Just upgraded to SP2. With only Macafee and ZoneAlert running, it take 10 minutes to shutdown (not a typo). Just goes to blue screen for 10min, then shuts off (sometimes longer). Startup is ~4 minutes. Before the SP2 upgrade it was ~4min startup and 2min shutdown.
The 4min startup does not bother me so much, but 10min for a shutdown??
I have disabled everything in msconfig/startup (exc Zone and Macafee), defrag/diskclean, ran Spybot and ran CCleaner, with no improvements.
Any suggestions? I really don't want to revert to pre-SP2, trying to stay up to date with Microsoft updates, etc.
thanks
