Hey guys. I posted a few months ago with a similar build, but ive run into some trouble with the funds and other stuff in between, but now I'm back, and this time with assurance that I can get the parts soon. This is built to be a mid-range gaming build that will last me for a while, as I work up the funds for a bigger upgrade (read: Until I reach the age for a good job, I'm only 13 QQ). It won't be an amazing rig, but it will hold its own for a bit, and I can always upgrade the grfx card via evga's program. Anyways,

THE LIST

Monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009108

From what I've heard, its a solid monitor, especially for the price.

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16811129021

Another that was recommended to me, just not sure about the wattage of the fans, though I doubt its a problem. And it glows. (read: OMFG GIMME TEH GLOWY LITE-BRITE LOLZ)

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819115016

A nice upgrade over the 6400, especially for the small price difference, and my needs aren't extreme enough for a quad-core

Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813128012

Recommended to me, so its all your fault guys :(

Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145034

Wewt, memory. Its whats for dinner. Looks like solid timings and such for the money (Yay rebates)

Graphic Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814130082

One of the cheaper DX10 Cards for future proofing, and its powerful enough for my need

PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139001

Once again, recommended by a LOT of people, but im not sure if I should bump the wattage for further future-proofing.

I left out the dvd drive and hard drive, because they're pretty self-explanitory.

Any suggestions you guys can give are great!

Theres a rebate on the case with newegg, but thanks for the suggestion

Just wondering, will that psu be enough, or should I upgrade to a higher wattage?

Alright, thanks. Was just worried because the graphics card said about 400, and then the monitor was 50, and with all the fans @_@ would come pretty close to the 520.

Can you make any other suggestions regarding the other parts? I was considering switching to amd and whatnot, but I couldnt really find anything to convince me.

Stick with Intel, you will be happy you did.

The memory is not listed on Gigabytes website as being supported for that motherboard, but I think it will be fine anyways.

Powersupply, I would go up 1 notch to the 620 watt, but it will still work with the one you have selected. It might be something you will want to change later.

Hard drive choices are vaired, I love WD, Next best is Seagate. I HATE maxtor!!!!

Video card and the rest are good choices for what you want to do, and your budget.

Alright thanks. I didnt show the HD because that really comes down to a local store availability thing. Was leaning towards the Seagate Barracudas, apparently they're supposed to run pretty quiet and very well, though my cousin did recommend WD, so iunno.

By the way, have a link to a nice 620watt? Im bad with PSUs :(

Im guessing that would be good? seems to be an upgraded version of the former. And I know I can use buy.com/zipzoomfly for a better price, just linking to newegg

Thanks for the suggestions, but I will not switch to the XFX card, I'd rather pay the extra bit of money for Evga's support (A LOT better.), because when it comes down to it, I'm a 13 year old kid that needs all the help he can get :P This is where it stands, and all I'm asking for is a quick look over to make sure everything is compatible with the added psu, mobo, and cpu.

Then i'd say you have the parts picked out, now go build it! And good luck.

Remember, go slow and read directions. And you can always come back here to ask questions. If you are unsure about something, ask first!
