15" vs 17" Laptops, which is better?

17 inch laptops are bigger. From my experience, they usally have more room for upgradeability and has better cooling. Cons, well....the battery life.

15" are more then enough, 17" laptops aren't really considered portable, they are more of a desktop replacement.

I about got a 17" because of a pretty fair deal I found, but honestly, such a large laptop isn't portable anymore. You can still easily lay on your back with a 15.4" laptop. Realize I'm quite used to my 12" so a 15.4 is a fair amount larger...

As mentioned, larger laptops tend to have better cooling. Also many 17" laptops have a pair of hard drive bays, though I do know of one 15.4" Toshiba that has a pair of bays. I guess it all really depends on what you need; desktop replacement or portability.

That's a pretty dayum tight laptop you got there... ;)

i have a 17 inch, as mentioned it is more upgradable. i have two hard drives bays of sata and also with a 17" you get the full keyboard with numpad which is a great benefit. i get about 2.5-3 hr battery and i like it. web cam built in cools great and you get better wireless signal since the antena goes in the monitor... bigger monitor, bigger wireless

if you have a 15" you can take it around easier than a 17" but it depends how your going to use it really i suppose

its a no brainer. if your wanting portability then don't get a 17".
i have one. 15" if your maybe going to school. you have to walk around
with this sheet.
