160 GB hard drive, can only use 30.7 GB?

I have a fairly old external hard drive, that I'd like to start using to store larger files that I don't necessarily with me all the time (i.e. movies etc). I seem to remember having reformatted it at some point (its FAT32 right now) and somehow limiting the size available when I did that. Now when I go to re-format it though, I can still only select 30.7 GB as opposed to the full size. Is there any way I can fix this?

I solved it. I had been trying to reformat just by right clicking on the drive and selecting format. Should have been opening disk management and using that.

You should also format it as ntfs unless you use other pc's that can only see fat32.
