170 degrees viewing angle on my laptop

When I try to view my DELL Inspiron 1545 from different horizontal angles then unlike my HP 6735s it maintains the same image instead of showing a craped up version of the original image.

Is it standard for laptops lcds to maintain an image when viewed from different horizontal angles or is it limited to certain laptops?

it depends on the purpose of ur laptop. For example, the side view of laptops for business are normally messed up so ppl dont peak into what you are doing when they sit next to you.

Actually it is a limitation of the LCD panel itself. TN panels are cheap and have good response times but usually a sub-par viewing angle. Other panels are better at other things like color accuracy and viewing angles.

If we go into numbers then how many percentage of laptops may have 170 degrees viewing angles.

ugh, I dont know how to answer this question :)). Do u want to buy a new laptop? If so, u can always check the type of screen first on the net.
