1920x1080 VGA Output to HDTV Has Black Bars on Sides of Screen

Hey All,

So I set up an extended desktop to a client's 64-inch Samsung TV (1080p). They have a laptop with VGA output. I have a regular 5-foot (or so) VGA that came with my monitor and I tested the connection with that and it worked fine. No bars and it was able to recognize the monitor as being a Samsung TV. I plugged in a 25-foot VGA cable and set the rez to 1920x1080 for the external monitor (their TV) and get these black bars on the left and right sides of the TV. About 2 inches on each side. I though it might be the cable so i got a new cable, same thing happens. What could be the problem? With the longer cables it just gives some standard name like "External Monitor" in the screen rez page on Windows 7. Could the signal carrying that information degrade over the length of 25 feet?

Any help/ideas would be great.
