1GB is not enough ram now??

i have 512MB RAM (2x 256 MB RAM) and i have no probs, running XP Professional 2002. I can have IE 7, CorelDRAW 12, Photoshop CS2, Adobe Reader, Excel and MS Word, and also all the background crap.....works fine just a 3 second lag switching between programs........ 2.8 GHz Pentium 4.

Considering getting extra RAM (1x 1GB RAM and 1x 256MB RAM)

Maybe if they aren't doing anything, however Photoshop CS2 itself uses well over 512MB of RAM when it's working on a large project.

I think when you are used to the slow speed of a system you just don't know what you are missing. My mother-in-law thought that her system was running fine with only 256 megabytes of memory until I put in another 512 megabyte stick of RAM into her computer. She really likes how the system runs now.
