I am going to buy 1gb Ram as my pc has been very slow in the last couple of weeks, can you tell me what i have to look into before buying one?

Well what is your budget?

Do you need our help with the type of ram like DDR2 or DDR and speed and stuff like that?

or

Do you need help with like brands of ram and whats a good type to get?

I need help with things like DDR2 or DDR, i dont understand it. Im saying like if i buy sum ram and get it and when i try to put it in it dont fit or something like that, just are the different sizes? does my pc need a certain amount of something to support it?

stuff like that

I downloaded CPU-Z and went on the memory section it has the following information:

Type - DDR-SDRAM

Size - 256 MBytes

Bank Interleave - 4-way

by looking at that can you click the link below and tell me wether that memory would be suitable for my pc?

What do you do with your computer? If you have enough money you might consider getting a mobo that supports at least DDR2 533,
and 512mb to 1gb of RAM.

he has a ddr motherboard not ddr2 and why would you want to switch to ddr22 533 that would be more expensive.

It would be faster. I was just saying that in case he had money to spend, so he could get a mobo & RAM and wasn't on a tight budget. If you are on a tight budget, by all means get DDR 400.
