1gb or 512mb?

ok so im getting a monitor with the res. of 1440x900
but idk which is bettr for gaming in that res.

should i get the 512mb his 4870 or the 1gb his 4870?

At that resolution, 512mb should be plenty, but if its within your budget, 1gb is safer if you plan on upgrading your monitor down the road.

It all depends on the card. A low-end card with 1GB is still a low-end card. You could probably find cards with 256MB that perform better than some cards with 1GB ram.
