1k budget

My friend wants a desktop to play the latest games on. Can anyone suggest parts to get the absolute most for 1k? It has to be nvidia for physx in borderlands though. I was thinking a 560ti?

I'd rather get the 660ti. Btw, PhysX doesn't help too much.

560 Ti is old, something like a 7850 or a 7870 or a 660 Ti would be much faster. I know the 7850s are about the same price as the 560 Ti.
