SOOOO SOOO right!! Cept last night (for me) this wasn't the case... grrr.. I got a new mobo and RAM for my computer, and it must have pissed off the hard drive, because it flashes the "Windows XP Pro" screen then blue screen's RIGHT away after that, and restarts completely.. not even SAFE MODE will start up. Guess its time to reformat the thing.

At any rate, I'm always crapping my pants if it boots up... after using a small Volkswagon to pound down the heatsink on my AMD processor, caking a nice thick layer of thermal grease on the top of the thing to the point where it looks like a tripple layered wedding cake (adds a nice "squish" effect when dropping the heatsink on top of it.. hehe), stabbing the mobo a few times with a screw driver trying to get it screwed in, and jabbing the mobo with pesky PCI cards that do NOT want to go in right, and touching every metal pin/point/connector on every peice of the computer.... :D I'm truly surprised anything works at all!! I'm happy enough just to see the little green light on the motherboard shine when I plug the PSU in.

I'm always astonished by how much of a beating a computer can take, and still boot up!

Plug it in, hope it powers on, hope it shows video, pray it reads my hard drive, and pray i didnt screw up installing my heatsink onto my CPU by some chance, install windows, than hope it recognizes all my componets.

power it up
install os
go online and read about the new technology that was discovered while you were waiting for your "top of the line" parts to be shipped and order them.;)

Lol

1. Power UP
2. Install OS
3. Install essential APPS
4. Set up network
4. Overlock anything reasonable, check, be happy :)
5. Install Games
6. Enjoy my PC :)
7. Feel like some computer nerd...which I am

JAN :D

Most of the time I f*ck it up real bad so since I'm nervous I dont plug it in for like a week.... or just do some ritual tribal dances around it.... but thats just me...
