2.5 IDE hard drive cloning

Hi
I'm new to this forum. We have an old machine with 2.5 IDE hard drive and runs windows 95. I like to clone the entire hard drive before it crashes. I like to know how to clone the hard drive. I cloned hard drives using windows XP and Acronis software and universal USB hard drive cable.
What I like to do is remove the HD from the machine and clone it to another HD externally using two universal USB cables. Can I do that? What software do I need?

Thanks

you should be able to use an external enclosure with no problem. as far as software goes, I recently used the freeware Drive Image XML ( download here) to do basically the same thing, and it worked quite nicely. just install it on the computer that will be managing the clone/ghost, and tell it which drive to save it to. i recommend creating a new folder and saving it in that. good luck and welcome to CF

Since you are going to connect it with another pc just get the program said above.
And it's 3.5" Hard drives, 2.5" are for laptops. so then u have a lappy ?
