You think they are similar in performance? I have one 8800GTS and I want a second one for SLi. I have seen very little information on 8800GTS G92 in SLi.

The CPU is gonna be a Q9450 and the ram is gonna be OCZ PC16000. Motherboard is gonna be an EVGA 132-CK-NF79-A1.

I am probably gonna have both cards overclocked to 705/1005 with fan speeds at 65%. You think I am gonna see a bottleneck anywhere on a system like this as well? Gonna try to get the Q9450 to 3.3 - 3.5ghz as well.

Reason why I ask is because I can do the stepup program and get a 9800GX2.

A 9800GX2 is two 8800GTS slapped together with lower clocks, i dont know how well they scale, but i would go for another 8800GTS instead, although i think one 8800GTS is fine !

Whaaaaa... a 9800GX2 is really just two of my cards?! WoW! haha

So in theory, two of my cards overclocked to the clocks stated earlier WOULD out perform a 9800GX2 and annihilate a 8800Ultra?

it should since clock speeds would be higher...

lol. i never knew the GX2 was 2 8800gts' together. so, what's so special about it? lol

Buying one new 8800GTS 512mb is cheaper then buying a new 9800GX2, and it's basically the same though you can expect either one being a little bit better or a bit worse they should perform about the same.

And really the 9800GX2 is a non-Nvidia-Chipset solution...

DUDE you're getting it all wrong. He's comparing "2" 8800 GTS with "1" 9800 GX2. Smarten up, one 8800 GTS is no match against the GX2.
