2 DVD drives slow

Ok guys so I put a DVD disk in 2 different drives and it shows up fast in My Computer, but once I double click it, I get the hour glass and the green bar across the top showing it is loading the content after a few seconds. Now the bar gets 99% full and not all content is loaded, meaning I see 20100731_65.JPG and nothing next to it. When I double click on a pic, I get this:

What's going on? Both of my drives are 2 months old.

Look in your device manager under the controllers and make sure the drives are running in UDMA and not PIO mode.

There are many controllers such as Universal Serial Bus Controllers, etc. Which one are you referring to? Can you please elaborate? Where do I find UDMA, under properties? Thanks.
