2 GTX 275 in SLI on Corsair 1000HX

I am thinking of running two GTX 275's in SLI, do you think a corsair 1000HX will be enough power?

The requirement of the EVGA GTX 275 is 550 watts and 40 Amps

The Corsair output is for each for it's two 12 V rails is 500 watts and 40 Amps.

Would I be pushing it too close?

Thats plenty of power to run two GTX275's, 40 Amps is not for the card, thats the rating for the entire system

What do you mean for the entire system?
