2 Monitors, 1 ATI, 1 NVIDIA

So, since August when I changed motherboards, I've had an NVIDIA card running with an Onboard ATI just sitting there, not doing crap.

I've tried installing ATI drivers as well, but it didn't work, and I couldn't plug in the blue VGA cord from the other monitor into the ATI card.

So now I'm just working off my NVIDIA dedicated card. How can I get both to work together?

The weird part is that when I had 2 NVIDIA's, I could do dual monitor.

Im thinkin that 2 nvidia cards work fine cuz same chipset manu, i would just look into spending a few extra bucks and getting a card that has 2 dvi ports from the beginning, most newer cards have 2x DVI out.

That is correct. They would both be using the same display driver - the nVidia driver. This is also why if you have an Intel IGP you cannot use it and an nVidia/ATI card at the same time.

Well, I mean the NVIDIA has 1 VGA and 1 DVI. I just have tried two different DVI cables and neither of them fit into it right.

For starters, the DVI and VGA connectors are very different.

Noooo. I mean my monitor is currently plugged into a blue slot. The white slot is open (I believe that's the DVI)?

So technically, I should be able to connect a white cord to go from the DVI slot to the DVI slot on the second monitor.

yes, you can plug another monitor into the slot and run it dual monitor. Thats what I do...I have 2 monitors running off of one nvidia 9800GTX+

Ah, gotcha. Yes, that is the DVI port. You should easily be able to run dual displays off of that card then.

You mentioned that the DVI cables did not fit. Were any of the pins on the cables bent? Or, do you see any obstruction in the pin holes on the GPU's connector?
