Was hoping someone could give me some quick help i have just purchased two new 23" monitors as an upgrade over my 2 old monitors and i was wondering if it is possible to run both monitors through an hdmi splitter? as i only have 1 hdmi port on my computer. If not are there any suggestions ? or is it a case of running 1 through hdmi and the other through dvi ?

any help would be greatly appreciated as i will probably cancel my order if i cant find a way and it due to be dispatched anytime now.

If your video card has 2 dvi ports use them instead.

This. DVI and HDMI are basically the same. Both digital connections, except HDMI has a different plug and supports audio. You won't lose anything by using DVI. I can that because I just switched out my DVI cable for a HDMI one (can't stand having to screw it in all the time with DVI) and there's no difference at all.

i think if you use a hdmi splitter, all it does is just duplicates the one output into two different monitor inputs, right?
so it wouldnt necessarily work as a dual monitor setup.
but if you use the dual dvi plugs, you can use the two monitor as separate desktops and comes very handy for multitasking.
and like everyone else is saying, hdmi and dvi are all the same, hdmi just supports audio, which means nothing in the pc world since yout get audio feed from somewhere else.
use the two dvi plugs.
