Ok I have gotten a Dell 17" flat screen at a tag sale for $5 cuz they were stupied. For My Hp computer I want to run 2 monitors on it but im confused I only have 1 PCIe slot so that means I have to have only 1 graphics card. Though if I have internal ATI Radeon Xpress200 already on, Can I only use ATI cards? Finaly what can I do with 2 monitors and whats SLI/Crossfire.
Advice please thx!

first u cannot use 2 monitors with ur current card, its intergrated. and u dont have to only use ati cards, or im just stupid. sli and crossfire is using 2 cards to produce mind blowing graphics.

crossfire=ati
sli=nvidia

o u do not have a crossfire or sli board and if u got a card for ur pci-e slot it will have 2 monitor slots, for dual monitors.

you'll have to get an actualy graphics card that supprots dual monitor in order to run dual monitor. Or you can buy a splitter and have 2 monitors display mirror images.

Ok thanks guys but one other think what can you do with 2 monitors?
Basically you can have it mirrored (same thing on both monitors), or extended (one large desktop).

you can play a game and monitor say IM or something..that's what i find it most useful for. Also, you can put applications on the secondary desktop while watching movies or doing hw.

Yea i use it for gaming/AIM. I can play games and see AIM conversations. I have hookes up 4 monitors before and its pretty sweet. When i play a movie and games it gets laggy but that was when i was roling a 866Mhz PIII.
