2 Operating Systems

somehow, I have two operating systems on one of my computers, XP Home and XP Pro. When I boot up the computer I have to choose which one to start with. I only want XP Pro, so how would I go about getting rid of XP Home,
Thanks,
John

typically you would have formatted the drive that home is on before installing pro, if they are on different drives, just format the home one. You can try deleting all the system files from the home installation and defragmenting, but no guarantees that will work and may give big problems

if there on the same hard drive, then do the following:

Start > Run > msconfig > BOOT.INI > Check all boot paths, this should get rid of XP Home.

Are you sure about this, I hate messing with the operating system and would hate to mess up the computer...

All it does is check the boot path of the operating system(s), and if it cant find the files, then it deletes it. It worked for me.

if I go to Boot.INI it shows the two operating systems and if I select home and hit check all boot paths, it just says "It appears all Boot.INI lines for Microsoft are fine"

Ok, are the 2 versions of windows installed on a seperate hard drive or partition? And are you able to boot and load either XP Home or XP Pro, or does only one work?
