hey im trying to set up 2 monitors by using my ATI 9550 to run the primary monitor (which is working) and running the seconed monitor on the video card built into my intel motherboard.

buuut i cant get the seconed display to run

i have the seconed monitor plugged into the onboard video card

on my display settings where i can set where the two monitors run i can only choose radeon 9550 (which is running this monitor)

And radeon 9550 secondery but i cant plug the seconed monitor into the card as it is a diffrent socket

there is no where to choose to the other video card to display the seconed monitor

any help woud be...erm real helpful :)

best way for me to try to explain how to get this to work is from the begining. first I would make sure you have your onboard video card working. delete the drivers for the 9550 one and just get the onboard drivers to work. this step might be unnessary but I find you have a better chance to get it to work if you start from the begining. Now have both monitors pluged in. Reboot and the onboard video card monitor should work. The one in the radeon 9550 will be dark. Next install the drivers for the radeon 9550.

check device manger to make sure both video cards are shown
Now after the drivers install go to display properties. click on the grey out 2 box. change the resoultion to what you want in the secound monitor then check the box that say extend my windows desktop. click ok and the seound monitor should work.

sorry if some of my instructions not clear am trying to do this from memory. If this does not work or you have questions about any of my instrutions please ask for more help.

Easiest way is to get a DVI adapter. The 9550 has dual monitor support. ATI 9550 SPECS
