20+4 Pin PSU with 24 pin mobo

I am currently looking at building a new computer. I have found a motherboard that I really like, however it is 24 pin. I have searched everywhere and haven't been able to find many 24 pin PSUs. I looked through the PSU thread, however whenever I clicked on the ones labeled 24 pin, Newegg said they were 20+4. So, my question is, is it possible to use a 20+4 pin PSU with a 24 pin motherboard? 20+4 means it's a 24pin power supply with the additional 4 pins removable for older motherboards.
