I am looking to buy a new monitor for my new PC that is listed in my signature. I am wanting to stay under $350 and I live in Orlando so I have a lot of stores local to me like CompUSA, BestBuy, so on. Please make a suggestion for a good quality monitor or even some specs that I should look for.

Thanks!
Mike

id say 19'' or 20''.

I have a 19'' viewsonic 2ms response time monitor and it's pretty darn good.

yes, 2ms is better than 5ms... BUT people usually can't see the difference...
even 8ms should be able to handle games pretty fine...

Yeah, I will probably go to Circuit City this weekend. Newegg has some good prices and it would save me money but I don't know how long it takes them to ship stuff. If they are fast, it would be worth it to go through them as I wouldn't have to pay taxes.

3 day shipping, unless u pay for like overnighted or something, ive checked out bestbuy and and everything and when i was lookin it was a bit over 200 for a nice 19" newegg will save u money and 3 days waiting time isnt that bad

lol Well I will be sure to look into that before I buy.

Here's what I just found...

Display: Prepare to feel the red mist of rage - no current TFT monitor out there is going to support high definition playback in Vista. You may already have heard rumblings about this, but here it is. To play HD-DVD or Blu-Ray content you need a HDCP compatible monitor. Why? Because these formats use HDCP to encrypt a video signal as it travels along a digital connection to an output device, to prevent people copying it. If you have just standard DVI or even an analogue output, you're going to see HD scaled down to a far-less-than-HD resolution for viewing - which sucks. This isn't really Microsoft's fault - HDCP is something that content makers, in their eternal wisdom, have decided is necessary to stop us all watching pirated movies. Yay.

So not required... but required for HD-DVD or Blue Ray

Thanks! I went with a Dell monitor:rolleyes:. Got a pretty good deal on a 20" widescreen, I wanted a 22" but my desk is so small I don't think it would fit.

BTW, it is Vista ready.

looks like when everything finally reach your hand, you are gonna be locked up in your room for the whole day... :D (playing games) lol...
