20-pin PSU fit in 24-pin mobo?

I'm looking to buy a motherboard that has a 24-pin PSU connector on it, and the PSU I want to buy has a 20-pin connector. Will this work without any problems? I heard that some PSU's come with adaptors or something and was wondering if this was true for all.

Yeah...will that come with the PSU? I also heard that you could just stick the 20-pin connector into the 24-pin mobo and it would work.

new psu normaly come the other way around, they have 24pins, but you can detatch the last 4 for use in the 20 pin boards
