I know there are some threads about his topic but i'm looking for an up to date on this. I currently have a arcade xbox 360 because it was cheap and I didnt have much money at the time, but I have always been a playstation fan, so I keep wanting to get a PS3, but is it worth it since I already have a xbox 360? Should I just keep using the 360 and forget about the PS3?

From what I hear the consoles have pretty much the same graphics.

What about game availability for the consoles? Do both consoles have pretty much the same games? What games do each console have that the other doesnt?

I play on a 32" LG LCD 720p tv if that matters much on the graphic comparison.

Well my personal opinion is that i would get a PS3 if the money is not a problem. So many things on the ps3 are better than the xbox 360. Many people will have different opinions though.

The graphics are outstanding and it comes with a blue-ray player. I haven't seen to many systems with that. :D

Whats better on the PS3? You said many things are? Just curious

Well, playing online is free, you can use it as a blue-ray player, you get free wi-fi, you can store files in it like videos and music and you can upgrade the hard drive too. Those are the main ones and there also are many many little ones.

You can upgrade the hard drive how? Can you use computer hard drives?

Also I heard most games want you to rip it to the hard drive?

Well i'm not 100% sure about that but i heard many people say that you can use the hard drive from your pc and upgrade yours. Like if you have 120GB now you can remove it and put a bigger one. Not 100% sure though that's what i heard people were saying.

About the ripping on the hard drive it makes the game run smoother. If you play it from your CD it may lag a bit. I'm not saying it will but sometimes it does lag when you play it from the CD.

In almost every multi-platform game out today, you can't realize the differences in graphics between the PS3 and Xbox 360. I hate when I hear "oh the PS3 has superior graphics." it's just not true.

That being said, the 360 has a total shit design (although the more recent generations are getting better) and a very high failure rate (again, this number is dropping). The PS3 has a much lower failure rate.

When it comes to games/online experience, I'd have to say it's 360 hands down. It's hard to compete with titles like Gears of War and Halo, and Xbox Live is just without a doubt better than PS3's online system. Granted it's not free, but seriously, what's $50 dollars a year?

Bottom line is, I'm buying the system to actually play games on. End of story. So for me, all the extra crap you get with the PS3, is totally worthless. The 360 without a doubt has better games and online play, so it's definitely my console of choice.

I couldn't have said it any better:good:

I voted PS3. At the end of the day i dont really care, i'd die by my PC and consoles just dont do it for me. However, obviously all my mates have a 360 or ps3, and i've played both a lot, and i gotta say i just prefer the PS3.

If i was going to invest money into one of them, the ps3 is a lot sexier, the touch sensitive buttons and the glossy black design (and this is important as it would be part of my lounges decoration!), and im mad about Little Big Planet! :P

In all seriousness though, the differences are so few and far between, it doesnt really matter! :D

If I was to give my honest opinion I would say forget about games in general and find something else to do. At least that is what I did kinda now I am a CF addict.

Everybody should own a PC and Console IMO, because sometimes PC games just get screwed over and that's when it's good to have a console.

Well the thing is Im in school still and also work 2 jobs so when I get home and theres not much going on now that its getting colder I just want to lay down, relax and play some video games so im not into gaming on my pc much anymore just because its more relaxing to just lay down in my bed haha

What about PC Gaming?

Do most prefer the consoles over PC?

I always liked PC better, never got into the PS3 or Xbox really.....

i like all types i've owned super nintendo nintendo 64 ps1 ps2 gamecube psp all the gameboys never got a ds (imo not worth it lol) now i just got my 360 and probably will get a ps3 this year too pc games i play ee2 halo css garry's mod hl2 360 assassin's creed and mw2 ps3 i've only played resistance fall of man which owned it felt like i was in a movie :)

i couldn't have said it any better:good:

+1

Also, what do you guys thing about the blu-ray when it comes to games? I hear people talk about how much more data it can hold than the 360's DVD-DL, but to me it seems like HDD installation has made this a moot point...
