200mm fan on Antec 900

That's actually what I was going to try next (after switching the fan from medium to high), but I wanted some input. It just seems weird that it doesn't work on a fan only plug when the manual seemed to recommend it.
I also had a problem with the two front, 120 mm fans not working but switching them to high fixed that problem.

ya it's weird, but that's what my manual said to do if the fans don't start. It is a lot louder now, but I don't mind too much

The front fans if plugged into a regular plug oposed to fan only will work on all three speeds.
Because of the led lights on the front two and the back one they need more power than a fan only plug provides (I believe).
I had the same problem and plugging them into regular plugs fixed it.

The BigBoy is not just any old fan
The Fan-Only connectors on some power supplies are designed to regulate fans in the size range from 80 to 120mm. I hadn't had this exact question before, but I will see if future revs of the manual can be made more explicit.
Those Fan-Only connectors work by regulating the voltage, and the reduced power of those plugs couldn't drive a Big Boy downhill with a tailwind. The Big Boy must be on a regular Molex for the same reason you don't want a 3-pin connector so you can hook it up to your mobo.
The reason we say to set a Tri-Cool to High if you are going to regulate it with another component like a fan controller or a Fan-Only connector on a PSU, is because the switch reduces the voltage going to the fan. If you take a low amount of voltage and then give it to a Tri-Cool that is set to Medium, the voltage gets reduced again and the fan can't spin. Only set the fan to High if you need that much cooling, or you are going to control the speed with another component.

His 200mm "big boy" is on high and still won't start, at least that's what I gathered. It's his 120mm fans that need to be on high to work with fan only connectors.
Which makes sense, because the high setting on a tri-whatever fan is 12V, and if it's turned down via the tri-speed thing and then turned down again via the power supply, it's turned down^2 and thus not getting enough voltage to start.
