2011/2012 Gaming Computer.

Hey all, I'm look for a little help with choosing the correct parts that would be best for me and my needs as I'm not very knowledgeable on specific computer parts.

I'll be looking to build the computer myself and I have a budget of about £500 (Which is about $820). Now I'm not sure if £500 will get me a decent rig or not but what little I do know about computers is that some parts are more important than others when it comes to gaming, so depending on how well my funds can get me if needs be I'd rather concentrate my money on the more important parts and upgrade the other parts 6 months down the line.

Preferably I want this system to run games releasing up until the end of 2012, in which tine I'll have some more money to upgrade. Some of the games I wish to play games such as the Mass Effect series (including Mass Effect 3 which comes out in March of next year) Skyrim, The Witcher 2, GTA IV, WOW etc etc.

If you think I could get near enough the same system for less such as for £400 which would save me £100 for upgrades next year then even better, or alternatively if you think it would be more beneficial in the long run to try and spend £600 then please do say so.

Hopefully you have an idea of what I'm after, I'm totally clueless on how to spend my budget wisely.
Again, please note that I will have the funds to upgrade parts towards the end of next year.

at that budget i'd say get that little bit extra, and if you also need all the mouse keyboard and monitor too then you have to get that extra bit, you'll be able to use it for a while too, but at what res is the question, by the end of 2012 you'll be on like half the res you are when you build this.
 
Thanks for the reply, the mouse, keyboard and monitor and Windows 7 do not factor into the budget I'm willing to spend. Though by all means please do give advise on a good mouse, keyboard and screen to get. I'll probably get a 22" monitor.

Have you got any suggestions on parts to buy, I hear Newegg is the best place to go, I'll have about £200 to spend to update the computer by then end of next year, maybe more.

Sorry, forgot bout this and nobody else responded, but Bulldozer is coming out later this year, supposedly in september, but not officially confirmed yet as far as i know, but it will be an 8 core quad module cpu, or a 6 and 3 or 4 and 2 depending on how much you wanna spend ranging from >300 down to ~190,

for using newegg, since you said euros i'm guessing your in the uk, and newegg is an american based company and only ships here and Canada, but for you everyone there says to use overclockers.co.uk, which i guess i'll go and look at now for ya.

I just looked into the AMD Radeon™ HD 6770 graphics card you recommended and it seems pretty good in terms of receiving mid to high end graphics, but through searching google some people have said they'd see it beneficial to spend more money on the 6850/6870 someone even suggested the 6950.

Just want your input on this, would it really be worth spending that little bit more money, especially considering I'll be upgrading the card likely by the end of the next year?

Would these cards even be compatible the other parts recommended?

Yes I would agree with Troncosco on the graphics card. I have a 6950 2GB and I run The Witcher 2 on high settings if not max, Mass Effect 2 on max settings, and Starcraft 2 on max settings.
 
Yes get the 6950 if you can, plus a free dirt 3 with the one linked, but you pay for the game with the looks of the card, that is the ugliest one i've seen, my 9600se cheapy card from '05 which is pure board no covers/coolers looks nicer than that.
