226 watt peltier cool a i7 [email protected]?

peltier specs!!!

* Functions on 12V power - Dedicated PSU will be needed.
* Maximum operating temp: 125
* CImax = 24 Amps
* Qmax = 226.1 Watts
* Vmax = 15.2 Volts
* Delta Tmax = >67 (C)
* Size = 50mm X 50mm X 3.10mm

would this have enough cooling for my i7 920 @ 3.6ghz?

i aware of all the preperation needed and a proper meanwell power supply will be used!
 
it might, but you'll need something like a stinger v8, or artic spider for it, and a cold/hotplate(i think they're that big anyway)

i have some copper here for the hot/cold plates but i cant see any gain from using them as the peltier is the same size of the cpu and water block......

as for buying them big thick waterblocks, nahhhhhhhhhhhh
 
the problem is with a peltier, in order for it to be effective, you need somewhere around 250 pounds of force on it to be the most effective(you'll crush the core of a cpu at around 80 pounds with the ihs)

well nothing is going to stop the pressure being on the cpu due to the fact of there needing to be contact with cpu?
 
actually yes, it should look something like this(awesome drawing)

the way that you apply pressure to the peltier, and not the cpu is that the hot and cold plate has an independant mounting mechinism
