I know they're the same brand but only difference is that 2407FPW has lower response time and also comes with HDCP compability.
But this is why I might be able to afford the cheaper version as 2405FPW is likely to fall in price as consumers dump their older version to stay upto date. so how much performnance downgrade will I get if I go along with 2405FPW then the newer model.

Right now I have faster 21" CRT monitor so speed is very important to me, so is 16Ms response time to low in the older model, considering newer model only has 6MS, or are they fairly similar in performance.

Can someone who has 2405FPW advice me on dell's perfiormance in newer games.

I can't specifically advise you on Dell monitors when compared to each other. But I can point out that some lcd 19" viewable lcds will top the 6ms response time there with 2ms. Are you planning to stay strictly with crt models or eventually go for lcd to run higher screen resolutions. Most of the newer games will support the 1280x1024 resolution level as long as your video card offers that support as well.

With just about any pc game you can run the 800x600 resolution without difficulty on various makes and models of crts along with some lcds(usually the 14" or 15" viewable models). For specifics on how that model Dell monitor works with games will also depend on which games you are planning to run. Online articles surrounding one brand and model crt's performance usually are limited to one or two games. Is there anyone here running a Dell 2405FPW model crt?
