vista premium is $250.. How long do you think I can use Xp o/s for before it becomes obsolete? or a pain the ass because its incompatible with new software? Oh its going to be for a different computer

Defo, just sit back and watch. Then once u know more about the OS and prices drop then it would be best to buy it then.

We still use Windows 2000 Pro on our computers at the office. I actually prefer it over XP.

I'll be using XP until I save enough money to justify wasting $200+ on Vista.

It's been about 8 years and people still use 98. I'd say you can still use it until then to the point where MS stops supporting it's own OS's. I don't think the jump to Vista is as dramatic as some people make it to be because seriously, MS wants you to get a whole new system (for the average few) just to run that OS.

my teacher was telling me that in vista, microsoft will automatically create a pesonal webpage accessible by them for each computer vista is installed on that logs everything you do, to crack on pirating and illegal stuff, also making your computer easier to hack.

i was basically told to tell everyone not to get vista and not get it myself.
