2560 X 1440 Monitor?

No idea, I would never pay one thousand dollars for a monitor. Lordy lordy 17 inches is enough for me!

But the size is just a bit less than my 32" TV and the resolution is epic high. The TV cost is as same as this monitor cost. So Basically I'm on it, I'm buying the monitor, just need to know whether to go for GTX 590 or 580?

The resolution is supported on the GTX580, But I wouldn't guarantee performance in game.
Heres some quick google work for you.

if you see it in person you would be able to discern, honestly i have, and if i had 1000 to throw at a monitor, that dell would be the one, its beautiful and size isnt the big selling point, its the resolution, its breath-taking. dell has a beautiful display

I plan to use this monitor for ages, I think the 27 inch would be enough (I wish it was 30").
The main concern is how powerful is my GPU, the 590 feels good but GTX is still one of the best.

my friend in colorado runs everything off a GTX580 and says it does the job, so i think you are okay with a 580, you could sli if you feel the need but i dont feel its necessary, and remember as new cards come out...the 300 dollar cards become the 150 dollar cards and so on and so fourth, you wont have a issue with getting hardware to drive that monitor.

This is what I was thinking, every now and then you can find a 30" dell for a bit over $1000, otherwise I would just go with a 24" that's 1920x1200(a gtx 580 works fine for me)

It's really difficult to find 16:10 24" monitors now. They all sell the 16:9 crap 1920x1080. It's really REALLY wide and barely any height. Gaming is never the same with those monitors compared to 16:10's.

P.S. They're all really expensive. NCIX sells them for like $300+ for 16:10 24" monitors.

The U3011 30" is like too costly 1500$, I am trying to keep the Monitor+GPU budget around 1800$. The apple sounds seems good too. Hmm, Dell vc Apple
About GPUs I', thinking about avoiding SLI/CF I need to have as less heat as I can with less power consumption. I am assuming 590 is the way to go, but anyone knows when the next Nvidia GPU is coming out?

More specific details are not available at this time, but the vga.zol.com.cn website says that Nvidia has surpassed some of the obstacles faced by its new architecture and that, the company, is supposedly getting ready to launch the GTX 600 GPU family (based on Kepler) in Q4 2011.

As before, the new core should make its appearance in high-end desktop cards and then move towards the mainstream and mobile sectors.

AMD's next generation GPUs, code named Southern Islands, will also be manufactured by TSMC using the 28nm manufacturing process, the Radeon HD 7000 graphics card family to be released in Q3 or Q4 2011.
All of this is to to be taken with a grain of salt though.

Get a 30" Dell. I have one and it's superb. If my memory serves me correctly, the Apple Cinema display is not HDCP compliant.
