280 GTX and new drivers

GTX 280 on average performs as good 9800GX2

In other words, Nvidia made one GPU that performs as good as two G92 GPU. Thats impressive in my opinion. Remeber that in games that don't use two GPU's, the GTX 280 would rape 9800GX2

And the GTX 280 doesn't consume a lot of power as some people claim. The power consumption at idle of this GPU is lower than 8800GTS 512MB, and slightly higher than 8800GT. However, at full load the power consumption is somewhere between 8800GTX and 9800GX2.

The price is what gets our panties in a bunch. I agree the 280 is a pretty nice step up from current single GPU cards, but in a time when some of the best of the best cards could've gotten for a fraction of the price, sticker shock tends to spoil anything less than a dramatic raise in the bar. In my view at least.
 
Agreed. In fact, I had to throw out my panties due to soiling issues when the card debuted at newegg.
