How much of a difference is there in the 754 semperon 754s? dont mistake with the A's since there snl;t even a socket A 3100 :P

I may be able t make a decent profit downgradeing to the 2800+ since i havn;t installed my 3100 yet.

With a nice heatsink and fan(also have 4 80mm case fans, one side on the bottom half blowing in, one on the top blowing out, two on the front btoh ways, and i also have a HD fan which could just help on circulatin for othe thingks) could I overclock to the preformance of the 3100 or higher? Thanks.

Can I ask what you are going to use the computer for?

Seeing as how, you are building a Sempron PC, i can only assume this is not meant to be a gaming machine. (by that i only mean power-wise).

Depending on your normal workload, it may not require the extra, then my answer may be 'Yes' to do it.

What is the price difference? If it is not much, which it shouldnt be, than it may not be a bad idea, to just keep the 3100+, the higher clock-speed can help combat the lack of fast memory chips.

It is for a gaming PC, my PC with a crap cerlon D does okay in gaming with the higher end games now, but i was hopeing with this(and a biggie the ram that can how run at the high speed's that i bought it for) that it would inprove it a little bit.

Anyways I already had the 3100+ but i had a offere from someone to buy it for 150$(plus the mobo) and then i could buy the 2800+ with mobo for 60$, which i decides not to and just to keep my socket 754 3100 anyways, and now i am PISSED

The same deal i got the 3100 plus mobo for 80$ in the fry's ad came back today, io could have just rebought it lmao, oh well...

New question, which i'll make a new thread for is no one resonds, everyone says the NF4 chipset is good, what about the NF3? Its what on my mobo that i will finally have a chance to install tommorow.

yes, it should be better.

Uh, im not sure about the NF3/NF4 question, hopefully someone here will be able to tell you?
